The idea for Lemon Boy came out of nowhere, but he still became one of my favorite illustrations. The character himself is not based on anyone special but his official name is “Luke”.

PROCESS
First, I took the pencil sketch and, using an app, cleaned up the image. Then, I did the whole line art process on my cell phone with the help of the Autodesk Sketchbook program.
I always apply an outline with thick lines using a rustic brush in my illustrations, so that's what I did here.
COLOR PALETTE
I chose a wide variety of yellows to create a strong citrus atmosphere, and these shades contrasted quite well with the green and black.
